General:
Octylisothiazolinone (OIT) is a low-toxicity biocide specifically. The 2-n-Octyl-4-Isothiazolin-3-one is developed for the complete microbiological protection of water-based and solvent-based products against bacterial and fungal spoilage in the wet state. It is soluble in organic solvents and slightly soluble in water. 2-Octyl-4-Isothiazolin-3-One has a strong killing effect on mildew and can achieve an ideal mildew-proof effect.
The product has the advantage of broad-spectrum sterilization. It’s both mildew-proof and algae-resistant. Octylisothiazolinone (OIT) is stable under strong ultraviolet rays and acid rain, and the result of the outdoor weather resistance test for five years proves that the product has a good mildewproof effect. 2-Octyl-4-Isothiazolin-3-One does not contain mercury and lead and will not fade or darken the paint due to sulfides.
The disadvantage of this product is that it is water-soluble and easy to be washed away by rain. Therefore, it is not suitable for exterior walls. In addition.

Applications
It is mainly used as biocides and preservatives for coatings, paints, resins emulsions, oil water emulsions, photo-chemicals, in Paint, inks, lubricant, shoes cream, leather chemical, wood product and cultural relic protection etc.

Safety/Operation/Toxicity：
Avoid any contact with the skin. Wear protective clothes, goggles, and rubber gloves in operation. Once touch, will be sensitive to skin.Irritating to the skin and eyes.in a dark, air-tight, and moisture-proof place
Range of use:
When used as sludge stripper for grade II, the dosage of 150-300mg/L is preferred, when used as boicide, the dosage of 80-100mg/L is preferred, and charges every 3-7 days. No used together with oxidative fungicidal such as chlorine, and no used in cooling water system containing sulfur. When used together with quaternary amine, the effect will be better. When used as industrial fungicide, the dosage of 0.05-0.4% is preferred.
